Why would hundreds of 19th century Irishmen abandon the U.S. Army and join Mexican forces?
The Saint Patrick battalion was made up mostly of Irish soldiers who deserted the U.S. Army to fight for Mexico.In Mexico, September is known as the patriotic month, or el mes patrio which culminates on the 15th with the national independence holiday. This day, the President appears at the balcony of the presidential palace holding the flag of Mexico and symbolically rings a bell, just like Father Miguel Hidalgo did in 1810 as he called for the country’s independence.
Sr. Trooper Michelle LeBlanc is in her 14th year with the Vermont State police.
Michelle attended a 16 week patrol school with her K9, K9 Casko and in November of 2005 graduated from the 25th Basic Patrol class as only the third VSP female State Trooper to be a K9 handler. In December 2006, Michelle and K9 Casko graduated from the Basic Narcotics detection school.
Yup this lady is my hero and a role model in my eyes…wish I could “grow up” to be like her!!!

Roseanne Reunion! John Goodman to Star in NBC’s Roseanne Barr Comedy
Roseanne and Dan John Goodman are finally reuniting!
Goodman has joined the cast of Barr’s new NBC pilot Downwardly Mobile.
Written and executive-produced by Barr, the pilot will bring the Roseannestar back to series television as the proprietor of a mobile home park and surrogate mother to all the characters who live there. Goodman, whose recent credits include Damages, Treme and Community, will play the resident handyman on the property.
John Argent and Roseanne’s Eric Gilliland are also attached as executive producers.
For nearly 10 years, Barr and Goodman portrayed married couple Roseanne and Dan Conner on ABC’s Roseanne.

Although you are gone, it’s hard to believe it. I know my sister would be very happy to see this picture. It shows how much you cared about her and myself. You will be missed dearly but I find comfort to know that you will no longer suffer and are surrounded by angels.
